Overview of our Greece and Greek Island Tour

It's September so it must be time for another big trip!  After last year's Italy tour we decided on Greece and some of the famous Greek Islands. Our tour starts in Athens to see some of the famous antiquities, then we fly to Crete and make our way by ferry back to Athens via Santorini and Mykonos.  Along the way we should see plenty of interesting historical sites and a lot of magnificent scenery!  Go Ahead Tours is our tour company this year and like Monograms last year, they offer a partial organized tour and partial independent activities with a lot of free time.  Below is an overview of the trip.  We did not choose the optional excursion to Istanbul this time.

This blog is primarily for our family and close friends, as well as for our own record of the trip.  However, we are very happy to have others follow along with us as we travel and post about the sights, our activities, and our impressions.  We learned last year that it is really nice to have comments and feedback to the posts, so we encourage you to comment from time to time if a post is especially interesting to you, or if you have a question.  Please leave your name when you comment.  I intend to post daily and will endeavor to keep the blog up with our activities.  I found last year that was harder than one might think and "blog time" lagged behind real calendar time.  I will try to keep up this year.

Well it's time to head to the gate.  The journey today is Houston to Washington Dulles to Zurich to Athens.  We should arrive in Athens midday Saturday Athens time.  More then.
